INTRODUCTION section
Click on the section of the French Broad you wish to know
a bit more about. The map will move to show you that section
of the river, and you will be presented with some information
and the opportunity to view a photograph or two on that section
of the river.
TIMELINE section
Use the forward and backward buttons to move forward and backward
in time. To select your destination, drag the icon into the
frame above labeled "Drop Thumbnail Here".
THE WATERSHED/BASIC MAP section
Use the arrows buttons below to move to adjacent areas of the map in the direction of the arrow. Moving the scale slider
to the left or right will adjust the size of the map. More of it becomes visible at a time when you move the slider left.
The center area of the present view comes closer and its features get larger when you move the slider right. The
buttons on the "Layers" tab are for you to turn
on/off specific information on the map.
The icons buttons turn on "special location" hot spots in the map:
Camera for photographs, cross bones and skull for hazardous waste sites,
pick nick table for parks, and water drop for monitoring sites of the
Volunteer Water Information Network (VWIN).
Clicking on a hot-spot button in the map calls up more
information about that location under the MORE INFO tab above.
